Signing Day 2014

November 11, 2014 marks a special day in the baseball community. It is the national signing day for Seniors (2015) the players to sign their LOI’s or Letters of intent to the University they have chosen to attend.

All those years of hard work both on and off the field, going to the cages instead of parties, waking up early on Saturday’s for practice, going back to the cages on Sunday afternoon to get some extra BP in before that weeks big game. The struggles cause we’ve all had them, the great times cause you’ve had some of those too, are all celebrated today by you signing that LOI. To the players who have done the above, congratulations! You have achieved something that most people won’t ever in their life time. You are now a small percentage of players who will move forward and get an education through the game of baseball. Don’t take this for granted. College will be some of the best times of your life. You will meet some great people along the way, some friendships that will last a life time. Some of you may even meet your wife during your 4 years of college. Now, while all of this is great and true, understand you are about to also enter one of the more challenging times of your life.

For the first time some of you will be away from home. You will need to learn how to cook, wash your own clothes and most importantly learn to manage your time. From the moment you wake up your day will probably go similar to this: 6:30 am workouts, Class from 9-12, Lunch, Practice at 2pm, Study hall at 7, wake up and repeat the next day.  At first it would only be natural for you to be a little overwhelmed. You are starring all over and are no longer the big man(men) on campus like you were the past two years of High School. You are starting all over with a bunch of players and people you don’t know. However, you have the tools to not only handle all this, you have the tools to be great at doing all of this. Without you knowing, your parents and coaches have been grooming you your whole life for this. You know what it is to work hard, you know what it takes to get the grades, the rest is up to you to always remember why you are there.

We are all so excited for your future because we know you have what it takes to be successful.

To the parents, this is your day as well. These young men wouldn’t be where they are at if it wasn’t for all of the work you put in. These days to have a son that plays competitive baseball is a year round, second job for most parents. It takes a lot of sacrifices and extreme dedication. They would not be where they are at without you. Coaches, the work you put in shaping these ball players to not only the player they are but the young man they are, the endless amount of “extra BP”, teaching them life lessons through the game of baseball, or just being there for them to talk to someone, this is your day too, coach.

Congratulations to all the seniors who signed their Letter of Intent today. We are very excited and proud of you all. Here is the list of the Elite Squad 2015 signee’s:
