2015 RHP Richie Cruz has committed to Florida International University!
Richie is in his second year with Elite Squad. Last year Richie played with Coach Jose Piedra on the 16u TPX Squad before joining the 17u Prime team this summer. It seemed like every outing Richie pitched in this summer was in a big spot and he came through for his team. Richie pitched in a couple games at the WWBA in Georgia but non more important than in the semi final game. Richie came in relief during the semi-final game and picked up the win going 4 innings.
He came back just two weeks later to pick up another W in an elimination game at the 2014 PG World Series by pitching 3 scoreless innings!
